Mercedes-Benz have unveiled their all-new C-Class in an upgrade that they claim combines modern luxury with driving dynamics.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been a staple of the Saloon market, dominating alongside rivals such as the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series.

First introduced to the market in 1982, the C-Class has gone on to become Mercedes best-selling model throughout their entire mid-size range as it continues to live up to and exceed expectations.

The German manufacturer have released two updated editions, a Mercedes C-Class Saloon and a Mercedes C-Class Estate, while Mercedes also teased an all-terrain edition that we await further information on. The new C-Class has benefitted from a sportier and modern facelift without losing the recognisable charm that we have come to know and love from it in years gone by.

Mercedes confirmed that several different engine options will be available with the C-Class, with Plug-in Hybrid variants also on the horizon. The PHEV will offer 62 miles of pure electric driving.

The C-Class will begin with a 1.5L petrol engine that boasts 168bhp and 0-62mph times of 8.6 seconds, while a range-topping 2.0L diesel engine will produce 261bhp and has 0-62mph times of sub-six seconds.

It is claimed that the German manufacturer called in the help of the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team to produce a new turbocharger with the ultimate ambition of improving efficiency. Drivers will now enjoy between 36 and 46mpg, depending on the model you choose.

It is not just all about the new-looks for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class however, as they prioritise practicality too. There is more luggage space compared to previous C-Class models, with an extra 30 litres of space on offer.

Mercedes-Benz are confident that they have covered every angle for every potential suitor as they combine, design, looks, performance and sustainability with this brand new upgraded C-Class.

The interior appears to be as sleek as ever and it is filled with impressive technology, taking plenty of inspiration from the Mercedes S-Class. A huge emphasis has been placed on Mercedes’ new MBUX central display unit, which will look to rival the infotainment system on offer in a Tesla.

A high-quality interior finish, which includes ambient lighting, adds to what will be a relaxing but rewarding driving experience.

Among the numerous cool features added to this new-look Mercedes C-Class is the Digital Light. This already features in the S-Class and illuminates the road ahead in what they believe to be the smartest way possible, improving visibility and safety.

AutoCar believes that the new-look Mercedes C-Class could be priced between £35,000 and £38,000 as they prepare to hit the market in late March. Leasing a Mercedes is a fantastic method of getting behind the wheel of a new C-Class for a fraction of the cost.
