The Peugeot E-5008 is the brand's flagship all-electric SUV.

It looks large; there's no denying that. But not large enough to expect seven seats inside.

Gone are the days when seven-seaters looked disproportionate or a bit ugly.

This seven-seater looks the part and performs just as well too, with the range-topping dual motor variant capable of 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds — unreal for a car of this size.

Range is genuinely good too, better than many smaller EVs.

Positioned against the likes of the Kia EV9, Hyundai IONIQ 9 and Volvo EX90, it offers genuine space and range for families that need those extra seats at a reasonable price.

In fact, if you've got your heart set on an SUV rather than an MPV, the Peugeot E-5008 is one of the cheapest seven-seat electric SUVs on sale.

Large and in charge

There's no denying the Peugeot E-5008 is large. But it’s not disproportionate, as many seven-seaters are.

You wouldn't be able to tell it's a seven-seater just from looking at it.

It's a good-looking car, just a very big one. But all that space is exactly what sells it as a family car.

Room for all the family

Step inside and the cabin is a delight.

The panoramic i-Cockpit creates a cocooned feel which split opinions at Carparison HQ. The 21-inch curved screen dominates the dashboard, wrapping the driver's display and main touchscreen into one sweeping panel.

Materials feel a cut above too, with soft-touch surfaces across the dash and doors, and GT trim bringing Uziris leather-effect seat trim as standard.

The second row slides backwards and forwards, meaning you can create more legroom in whichever row you need. This flexibility is perfect for families. Retractable sunblinds for rear passengers are a nice touch too — genuinely useful for keeping little ones comfortable on sunnier drives. 

But on the flip side, the manual seat adjustment is a bit of a letdown.

In the boot, you've got 348 litres with all seats up, 916 litres with the rear row folded, and 2,232 litres with all seats down. Even with all seven seats in place, there's decent boot space. You just get van-like practicality with the seats down too.

Comfort over excitement

Put your foot down and the E-5008 is smooth and provides a comfortable ride.

Don't get us wrong, it's not a car built for thrills. It's definitely a cruiser, not a corner-carver.

But for family life, this is all you need.

The regenerative braking isn't too harsh like you find in many EVs, which is refreshing and easy to adjust to.

Charged up for family life

With a range of up to 413 miles (WLTP Comb) and a real-world range of 300 miles on our drive down to Dartmoor and back, the E-5008 has plenty of range for real family life.

160kW DC charging can take it from 20-80% in just 27 minutes, meaning you won't be off the road for long when you need to top up.

Safety and warranties

The Peugeot E-5008 backs up its family-friendly credentials with a solid safety and warranty package. It achieves a four-star Euro NCAP rating (2025), with scores across the board:

• Adult occupant protection: 80%
• Child occupant protection: 85%
• Vulnerable road user protection: 79%
• Safety assist: 62%

It’s worth noting that the four-star result comes down to safety-assist scoring rather than crash protection, where the E-5008 performs strongly.

On the warranty side, the standard cover runs to three years, extendable to up to eight years or 100,000 miles through the Peugeot Care programme, provided the car is serviced on schedule at an approved dealer.

The battery is separately covered for eight years or 100,000 miles as standard.

What's good, and what's not

The good bits:

What's the verdict?

The Peugeot E-5008 proves that seven seats doesn’t have to come with compromises.

It's a big car, but it never feels it: the proportions are right, the design holds together, and you genuinely wouldn't guess there are seven seats on board until you're inside.

That's no small achievement in a class where "seven-seater" often means "afterthought."

Range is a genuine strength here too. A 300-mile real-world figure on a proper family trip, backed by a WLTP Comb figure of up to 413 miles, means this isn't a car you'll be nervously watching the battery percentage in.

The manual seats on GT feel like a rare misstep at this price point, and the four-star Euro NCAP rating is worth knowing about. But neither is a dealbreaker.
