How long will it take for the DNO to approve the application to install the charger?

The DNOs have 10 business days to respond to your application. If the DNO approves the application to install the charger, British Gas will be in touch within one business day of being notified to book in a charger installation date. 

Some DNOs may need to do some further investigation to better understand if your home would be suitable for a charger; these investigations could be to understand the capacity of your local area and the services to your home or to check if the fuse in your home needs upgrading before the charger is installed. 

If the DNO requires further investigation before approving the application, they’ll be in touch with you directly to discuss the details of this further. During this time, British Gas will not be able to provide updates on how the investigation is going as they’ll only discuss this with the homeowner.
