Is my home right for a charger?

Most modern properties are suitable for home charging due to a change in the electric standards in 2008. If your home was built before then, you may be required to ensure the electrical safety of your home before a charge point can be installed.

If you live in a high-rise apartment, and you're not on the ground floor, you probably won’t be allowed to have a home charge point. This is down to not owning the wall the charger will be mounted on.

If you have shared parking, which is often found with parking at flats and apartments, British Gas are unable to install a charge point for you right now.
