What to expect when you order a lease car

We have designed our purchase process to make it as simple and easy as possible to get you into your perfect new car.

Our team will be here every step of the way to ensure you are informed and looked after. Plus, you can create an account that will allow you to track the progress of your lease order and record all past and present lease agreements arranged through Carparison. All at the click of a button.

Want to know exactly what stage your order is at? Use the table below to jump through the entire process and see what your next step is.

Step 1 – Search and compare

Search and compare our extensive catalogue of lease deals from the comfort of your own home, or on the go. Browse by make, model, monthly budget and more to shortlist your perfect lease deal quickly and easily.

Start your search by browsing our latest personal contract hire offers and business lease deals

Step 2 – Apply for finance

Before we can place your order, you need to obtain finance approval for the value of your lease agreement. Your application will include basic personal details and evidence that you can afford the lease you’re wishing to take out.

If you've found the right car lease deal for you, click here to submit an enquiry to our team.

Step 3 - Order your lease car

You can submit your finance application online, via phone or email. The information that you’re required to provide within your application will vary depending on whether you have chosen a business or personal contract hire agreement. Your leasing consultant will submit this to the lease funder, who will conduct a credit check to confirm suitability. The process can take up to 24 hours under normal working conditions.

Step 4 – Car is secured

By this point, you’re edging ever closer to getting behind the wheel of your new lease car. The car is now secured to you and we can proceed to the next stage of the leasing process.

Step 5 – Pay processing fee

At this stage, we would request that the processing fee of £298.80 (inc VAT) is payable to us. This fee covers our costs associated with locating, securing and marketing the very best deal for you in the marketplace.

Want to follow each step of your order as it happens? Create your very own Carparison account, which will track your leasing journey with us.

Step 6 – Finance documents signed and returned

After receiving your signed order form we will provide you with your financial paperwork and your Direct Debit agreement - all of which we need returning to us completed and signed correctly.

Step 7 - Arrange delivery

With your finance documents returned we can arrange for your delivery to your chosen location through the expert team of delivery drivers from each dealership we work with. Delivery is included free of charge with most orders. However, some deliveries to areas outside of mainland UK may incur a charge and your Leasing Consultant will be happy to confirm this for you.

Delivery times can vary depending on the status of your car. Factory ordered cars can take longer, for example. Your leasing consultant will make you aware of this at the earliest possible opportunity and will be happy to answer any further questions you might have.

Step 8 – Accept delivery

Whether it is at your home or place of work, we can arrange a delivery location to suit you. Collection is possible if you would prefer. If you would like somebody else to accept delivery on your behalf, we will require written proof of this, however, please note that they will be liable for accepting the car and confirming its condition.

With that in mind, we recommend that where possible, you make yourself available to accept delivery.

Now the handover process is underway, start by checking the registration number matches with your paperwork, and that the specification of the car is exactly what you've ordered. Checking the engine size, fuel type and trim level is especially important at this point.

It's important at this stage that if you notice any damage on the car, or if anything is missing or not working as it should be, that you inform the delivery driver straight away and mark the damage on the delivery note. We also advise that you take photographs of the damage where possible.

If you are unable to fully inspect the car due to dirt and debris, please make sure this is noted on your delivery paperwork. Most drivers will try and stop off somewhere close to the delivery address and jet-wash the car, due to weather and road conditions along their journey, despite the car being valeted beforehand, but sometimes this is not always possible,

To check the car for any scratches, dents, or defects you notice, we have a step by step guide on how to do a thorough check of your vehicle once it's delivered.

Any mileage on the clock is known as 'delivery mileage', and will be noted on your delivery note.

Please make sure any damage or faults is clearly recorded on the note before signing it.

Once you have signed it, Carparison or the dealership cannot be held responsible for any further damage from that point onwards.

Enjoy your new car

Our support doesn't end once we've handed over the keys. The dedicated Leasing Consultant who will have assisted you throughout your purchase will be happy to help if you have any questions or concerns following the delivery of your vehicle.
