Porsche Macan Personal Lease Deals

Every Porsche Macan has all-wheel drive, a PDK dual-clutch gearbox, and a turbocharged engine. The base car makes 245PS. The S makes 354PS. The GTS - a model name Porsche reserves for its most driver-focused variants - makes 380PS with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, a sports exhaust as standard, and tinted headlights.

The Turbo takes that engine to 440PS and 550Nm of torque, dispatches 62mph in 4.3 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package and Launch Control, and reaches 167mph. Not a number that sits easily in the same sentence as 'family SUV', but here we are.

What's Porsche's PTM all-wheel-drive system?
PTM - Porsche Traction Management - uses an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch to distribute torque between front and rear axles continuously and in real time, using inputs from wheel speed sensors, lateral and longitudinal accelerometers, and the steering angle. It operates invisibly under normal conditions but intervenes instantly when traction is lost or when the car is being driven at its limits - giving the Macan a level of dynamic composure that most AWD SUVs simply can't match. What's the Sport Chrono Package and is it worth having?
The Sport Chrono Package adds a driving mode selector with Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, and Individual modes, sharper PDK shift times, and Launch Control - which allows maximum-acceleration starts by holding the engine at optimal rpm while the clutch engages. In the Macan Turbo, it reduces the 0-62mph time to 4.3 seconds (from 4.5 seconds without it). It also adds a stopwatch on the dashboard. It's worth having on any Macan, and essential on the GTS and Turbo.
