Everything you need to know about the Jaecoo 7, the new affordable luxury SUV.

Affordable luxury? Yes, really.

The Jaecoo 7 is a high-tech super hybrid SUV from Chery, the Chinese manufacturer behind Omoda.

The Jaecoo 7 is loaded with all the bells and whistles (and maybe a few you didn’t even know you needed). It's a car that wants to do it all – and for a fraction of the price of some of its premium rivals.

The name originates from the German word ‘Jäger’ (meaning 'hunter') and the English word 'cool'. It really is Jaecool.

OTR prices range from £29,435 to £35,065, depending on the model you choose.

It may make a cheap car lease, but it’s not a slacker.

Its low price tag also means you avoid the expensive car supplement introduced for cars over £40k. This fully loaded tech beast is way ahead of the curve.

But what do you need to know about it?

Many cars that are this packed with tech don’t usually think about the usability of the systems. You have to know it to be able to do it.

That wasn’t the case with the Jaecoo 7. It was intuitive and handled everything you needed, and more, with ease.

But it’s still useful to know its full potential before making the commitment and leasing.

So, let’s dive right in.

Everything you need to know about the Jaecoo 7

  1. What tech does it have?
  2. Range and charging
  3. Aerodynamic mastery
  4. Luxury experience

What tech does it have?

When we tell you the Jaecoo 7 is packed with tech, we mean it.

So, let’s dive in and unpack just how much this luxury yet affordable car can do.

Voice assistant

Say ‘Hey Jaecoo, it’s too hot’, and suddenly your AC is on.

Taking inspiration from Apple’s Siri and other voice assistants, Jaecoo has embraced this much-needed feature.

No more getting distracted trying to find it in the settings on the infotainment screen. Focus on your driving, and make your car do all the hard work for you.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Another handy feature. Simply connect your phone and your car somehow becomes even smarter.

Display your map on the big screen, get Spotify up and crank some tunes, and so much more.

A welcome addition to the Jaecoo 7.

Wireless phone charger

There’s a little gap under the infotainment system especially for your phone. A handy place to keep it while driving, yes.

Jaecoo takes this up a notch.

While it’s keeping your phone in place, it also rapidly charges your phone via wireless charging.

Forgot to charge your phone last night? No worries—your Jaecoo 7 has you covered.

Driver assistance

Driving is exhausting. But fatigue is dangerous for drivers.

Jaecoo, ever the safety guru, has a small camera in the driver’s display to keep an eye on you while you drive.

Yawn? A little coffee cup icon will flash up, suggesting you take a quick break.

Eyes drift away from the road? Jaecoo will get your attention again.

Technology these days is wild.

Synchronised LED lights

Transform your car into a disco. Not only does it have LED lights around the car, you can also synchronise them so they flash in time to your music.

So go for it. Turn up your music, it’s carpool karaoke time.

SONY sound system

A common question when picking out a car: what’s the sound system like?

All I need to say is, ‘It’s SONY’ - and you’ll automatically know it’s a good one.

A well-respected brand for sound systems, this SONY sound system will pair well with the synchronised LED lights.

Range and charging

Range anxiety, who?

The Jaecoo 7 is available as a plug-in hybrid or a petrol combustion engine.

The plug-in hybrid isn’t just any old hybrid system—it uses a Super Hybrid System.

Prioritising electric driving, it uses the petrol engine to charge up the battery. It even has regenerative braking to help you go that bit further.

Its range? A whopping 750 miles.

If you’re not quite ready to make the leap to electric, a hybrid lease is a good way to ease you in. And with this range, what’s not to love?

A hybrid with rapid charge?

Electric cars these days often have the option of rapid charging, with some such as the Tesla Model Y having the capability to go from 0-80% in as little as 30 minutes.

But there aren’t many hybrids that have this capability.

Enter Jaecoo 7.

This bad boy does. Using its CCS socket, you can charge it up in as fast as 30 minutes.

Aerodynamic mastery

Many manufacturers are playing around with different elements to improve the aerodynamics of their cars.

Jaecoo is one of these.

Not an S-duct, like the Polestar 3. But holes in the wheel arch to improve airflow and decrease drag.

By improving the aerodynamics, it increases the range. So, you can see how it manages 750 miles now.

Luxury experience

You might assume that a lower price tag means lower quality. Well, you know what they say about assuming...

The Jaecoo 7 is probably the epitome of luxury. Especially considering its price.

Legroom galore

In the 6-foot-and-over club? No problem.

The Jaecoo 7 delivers serious legroom.

Whether you’re the driver or the passenger princess, expect comfort and room galore.

Big boot?

The Jaecoo 7 offers 412 litres of boot space with the seats up and 1,335 litres when folded down, providing a decent amount of room for everyday needs.

There's also a handy compartment under the boot floor, ideal for storing the charging cable in the plug-in hybrid version, keeping things neat and organised.

Cupholders

For our Digital Marketing Executive, Tori,  what's the most important feature?

Good cupholders.

So, of course, we must include this. With it having adjustable cupholders, we managed to fit our big water bottles with ease.

No worries about any spillages either.

Final Thoughts – Is the Jaecoo 7 the One for You?

The Jaecoo 7 isn’t just another SUV—it’s a statement.

A car that refuses to compromise, blending luxury, tech, and efficiency into one sleek package, all without the eye-watering price tag.
