Tesla Model Y

Volkswagen ID.4

Volkswagen’s first all-electric crossover SUV, that got its electric debut back in 2020, the Volkswagen ID.4, and hasn’t looked back since.

Joining the ID.-badged line up for Volkswagen, the ID.4 brings a spacious and relaxed cabin to the table—sorry a table is not included in the car, we’ll leave that to the VW ID. Buzz—even your 6ft friends and family can fit comfortably in the back, without any acrobatics.

With the boot coming in at 543 litres (seats up), the Volkswagen ID.4 is a firm placeholder on our list of electric cars with big boots list.

VW took the phrase “fill your boots” very literally, and we aren’t mad about it.

In the ID.4 you’re never going to have range anxiety, and with a range of up to 336 miles in a single charge, it'll be the last thing on your mind, regardless of it being an everyday run about for the family or a weekend away.

With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming as standard, on a 10-12in infotainment screen, your passengers won’t be short of entertainment.

Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 has been turning heads since its debut alongside Kia’s new badge logo in 2021, and we still can’t keep our eyes off it.

This roomy SUV is packed with clever storage solutions, so whether it’s toys, books, drinks, or snacks, there’s a spot for everything (and no more cluttered back seats—yay).

The boot boasts 490 litres of luggage space, but if you need even more, the front trunk, or frunk if you may, bumps it up to a generous 542 litres. With its stylish exterior and super cosy interior, the EV6 is a treat for the eyes and the old backside.

Plus, those touch screens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility?

Perfect for keeping the whole crew entertained, whether it’s a quick school run or a weekend road trip.

And here’s the kicker—this beauty offers up to 328 miles of range on a single charge. Running low? No worries.

You can add a cheeky 62 miles in just 4.5 minutes with ultra-fast charging. The perfect toilet break time. 

Makes your charging break even more efficient.

How’s that for electrifying?

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The lines between living space and moving space have been heavily blurred with the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

With highly adjustable and luxurious seats, your family will be begging for a five-hour road trip in this EV.

It’s also fitted with cutting-edge safety and driver assist features to give you peace of mind with your precious cargo in the back—the kids.

Cars don’t get a 5-star Euro NCAP rating for no reason, and the Ioniq 5 is no exception to the rule. Maybe the seven (yes you heard right, seven) airbags have something to do with it.

Need space?

And the space? Surprisingly generous. The boot offers 385 litres, perfect for your gym gear, weekly shop, or a weekend getaway bag.

Need to haul more? The flexible rear seats fold down to make extra room.

If the EV range anxiety hasn’t faded yet, the CUPRA Born’s range of up to 372 miles in a single charge can surely persuade you.

The ATTO 3 delivers with a 440-litre boot, giving you loads of space for buggies, backpacks, or a big grocery haul.

Got even more to carry? The flexible rear seats fold down to handle it all.

With a claimed range of up to 260 miles, this EV is perfect for daily commutes, school runs, and plenty of detours. Packed to the brim for action, with smart safety features and driver-assist tech to keep you confident and in control on the road.

With an infotainment system that echoes Tesla’s minimalist tablet design, which can be rotated portrait and landscape ready to entertain at the touch of a button, well a tap of a screen.

A crowd pleaser, some may say.

Volvo EX30

Volvo, a staple for safe and reliable vehicles, is the second-best creation Sweden have brought us (the best being IKEA, obviously).

Inside the Volvo EX30, you’ll find a sleek, Scandinavian-inspired interior that’s as inviting as it is sophisticated.

The seats and interior are consistent with a minimalist design, often found in EVs, with clever storage solutions ensuring everything has its place – from snacks to school bags.

A respectable range of up to 296 miles from a single charge, the world is your oyster - at least, for the first 296 miles of it. And then you can charge again, and get another 296 miles of oyster.

With a boot capacity of 318 litres, it’s perfect for day-to-day life. But a whole family camping trip could push the limit for the EX30.

A fun extra (fextra? No, that’s taking it too far) that we love in an EV is a ‘frunk’. Otherwise known as 'the storage area under the bonnet' (as there’s no engine there), the frunk provides a little extra space. The Volvo EX30 nabs you an extra seven litres of cable-storage space (or snack storage, if we're involved).

Self-proclaimed leader in vehicle safety innovation for decades, who else would you want transporting your pride and joy around in?

Pair the 360-degree camera system with park pilot assist and adaptive cruise control, the EX30 aims to prevent accidents before they even start.

I think we’re done raving about the Volvo EX30.
