Explore Volvo’s new all-electric SUV: the EX90

Amid rising energy and fuel costs, Volvo has unveiled an all-electric SUV with bi-directional charging

Following a lengthy teaser campaign, the EX90 has finally made its full debut.

Set to launch in 2024, the electric SUV isn’t just the launch of a new model, the EX90 symbolises a new era of Volvo with its fully electric powertrain.

With a price tag starting at around £100k, Volvo promises something different, more efficient, and more elegant.

Today we take a closer look at the newly revealed Volvo EX90 and see what makes it the ultimate flagship SUV.

With competitive space and impressive electric range, the Volvo EX90 looks like it’ll be a great option for a future electric car lease.

Drive

Designed to drive the front and rear wheels separately, the cool car comes with two electric motors as a standard.

With 408 horsepower and 770Nm of torque, the EX90 is quick and can accelerate up to 62mph in 5.9 seconds.

Smooth and powerful, it’ll make each drive a ride to remember.

Design & Interior

At a glance, the Volvo EX90 already looks like the poshest Volvo car ever made. It has a futuristic look with its sleek and rounded front.

Looking smooth and minimalistic, the EX90 doesn’t have a fake plastic grille like some of its posh competitors and the ‘Thor’s Hammer’ headlights greet you when you approach the car.

The premium cabin is made using recycled plastic and renewable materials, while the use of an exclusive wool blend upholstery gives an elegant Scandinavian look and feel to the interior.

The SUV showcases Volvo’s biggest panoramic roof yet.

Space & Practicality

With plenty of room for the whole family, your suitcases, golf clubs and toys, the Volvo EX90 has seven adult-sized seats and a large boot, ready for any adventure.

If you don’t need to carry seven people, you can put all the back seats down and enjoy 1,915 litres of space.

The new Volvo not only comes with a rear-loaded trunk but with a front-loaded frunk too. It has enough space to store your charging cables and a small bag.

Innovative storage is scattered around the cabin, including a purse store for your passengers to put their bags into.

Range and charging

All EX90 models will come with a 107kWh battery. With a fantastic, claimed range of up to 363 miles, the Volvo EX90 will give you a run for your money.

Using a fast charger, you’ll be able to charge the electric SUV from 10-80% in 30 minutes.

This unique SUV comes with bi-directional charging, meaning the EX90 has the potential to power your home and store power too. This makes your energy utilisation cheaper, more efficient and more sustainable.

The idea is that you’ll be able to use leftover battery charge to power your house during peak energy times and charge the battery at night when energy prices are cheaper.

As the cost of electricity soars, the EX90 sounds like an ideal car model if you’re considering Volvo leasing.

Technology

Infotainment has been made easy in the Volvo EX90. Complete with a new core computer, the infotainment system is quicker and more convenient to use than ever.

Like the XC90, the Volvo EX90 comes with a portrait infotainment system but is a larger 14.5 inches. Mounted on the steering column is a 9-inch driver display that adjusts with your steering wheel to always be in the best viewing position.

The car’s software can be updated easily over the air, and it supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity.

Offering something a little extra, the front headrests come with built-in speakers for the Bowers and Wilkins stereo, offering a three-dimensional surround sound experience.

Safety

You’ll have a hard time crashing this car.

The Volvo EX90 enters a new era for safety and is decorated with cameras, sensors, and LiDAR (light detection and ranging). Its clever features have been designed to keep you and your passengers safe.

This SUV can alert and react to oncoming vehicles and potential hazards when going through a junction. Plus, the car can work out if you’re feeling drowsy or distracted and step in when support is needed.

Its occupant sensing system will alert you if you’ve accidentally left a sleeping child or dog in the car, while the in-car climate system can also adjust temperatures to minimise the risk of heatstroke.

The Volvo EX90 is a safe way to move the family around in style or is a compelling option for your next Volvo business lease in two years’ time.
